This proposal introduces an overall plan for the development and protection of the Kommos archaeological site in Southcentral Crete. It is largely the work of James Stratis, Restoration Specialist of the Colorado Historical Society. Its genesis owes much to the encouragement of the Ephor of Central Crete, Alexandra Karetsou, with advice of the architects Martin Schmid and Clairy Palyvou, as well as others, including Michalis Kotsyfakis, present Mayor of Matala-Pitsidia, whose dream of an archaeological park should come true.
